We have a bit of a tradition going with Mama Sue. She visits us for Thanksgiving each year and we usually try to bring her to see a new lighthouse. Although she's been very faithful visiting us on Thanksgiving, we have dropped the ball a few times on the lighthouse visits. This year we came through though and brought her to see the Fort Gratiot lighthouse in Port Huron. It was a very interesting lighthouse to visit as it is the oldest lighthouse in MI and 2nd oldest on the Great Lakes. It was built in 1829 and our sweet tour guide had lots to teach us about it! It was a rainy cold day, but we made the most of it, climbed to the top, and had a great time together. We even roped Mama Sue into taking our annual Christmas card family photo! We loved spending time with her over Thanksgiving and are so thankful for the wonderful Mom and Grandmother she is to our family!
