loving life on the lake

We had a super fun day on Monday with our neighbors. They invited us out on their boat for some fun on the lake. This was a much different experience than any boating I've done up north.First off, there were very few boats around. Apparently the popular place to boat around this area is on the
inter coastal. I could appreciate the light boat traffic on the lake. The second big difference was the color of the water, which i didn't appreciate. It looked like we were boating in tea (I'm told the
Cyprus trees are the cause for that) plus there was a lot of algae so that was yucky too. With some coaxing though, everyone got me to eventually get in the water to cool off. The third difference is the fact that there are gators in the water and lots of them. I've been assured over and over again by the locals that they stay in the shallow water along the edge. We did survive the day without any sitings or loss of limbs so I guess they must be right.
Oh, Becky you're so brave. I would for sure think twice about that water because of the color and the gators!
ReplyDeleteI love that Dave is wearing a wetsuit! Caleb sure does look like dad in that picture.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me it was not wet suit temps. It's just a shirt to prevent the lifevest from rubbing when he was skiing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun!!! I would have been way too scared to enter that "tea" water with alligators nearby!! C really does look a lot like Daddy in these pics!
