I love NY party

 Our souvenirs from the night!

We were given some special t-shirts. The boys have some growing to do, but for now they are jammie shirts. E insisted on sleeping in his the night of the party.

C was given a special football and was the star of the football game getting a touch down and a tackle.

Scott knows all to well of D's love for smoked meat and therefore at the party we feasted on 10 racks of  smoked ribs. We were a big crowd!

A long while back we introduced our friends to what we like to call Walker Chocolate Sauce. The recipe was given to me by my sister-in-law Tara (Walker) Loyd. It became a favorite of ours to have over ice cream with Scott and Carole and so she surprised us with the ingredients to make a GIGANTIC batch for the night. See all that sugar in the picture below? Yep, that all went into the batch. It was true chocolate perfection and made the sweet night even sweeter.

Scott also knows that D loves rootbeer and so we were given a group rootbeer toast!

As with any special occasion with Carole, there were lanterns to be launched!! They were so beautiful and we are just sure they have crash landed in our new backyard in MI and are waiting for us!
No party is complete without music and of course we had some classic NY songs playing...."NY State of Mind" and "NY NY" complete with a chorus line or two.

We ended the night with lots of laughter and warming up around the fire. A perfect night because it wasn't a farewell party it was an "I love NY party". I'm in a little bit of denial that we are actually leaving all these precious people in a few weeks. Who could blame me? :)

We recently were the guests of honor at a very fun "I Love NY" party hosted by our dear friends Scott and Carole and attended by so many people we love and will miss SO MUCH here in NY. It was an amazing night and difficult to put words to how touched we were by all the special touches incorporated throughout the night. Although we are excited about our new adventure we are truly heartbroken to be saying goodbye to our church family here.
