Ark Encounter

being silly at the giant door the animals would enter in on

We had the opportunity to visit the Ark Encounter just a few days after it's grand opening in northern Kentucky. It was quite a sight and neat opportunity to visualize the massive building project that the Lord entrusted to Noah some 4,300 years ago. According to Answers in Genesis it is estimated that Noah spent 55-75 years of his life building a giant ark similar to the structure we visited. Amazing faith and trust in God! It was really incredible to walk around and image all of life on Earth sustained on one boat for a year! It's hard to image a world where Genesis 6:5 says "The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." and this grieved the Lord to his heart. How thankful I am that Noah was found righteous and that God had a plan to continue humanity. God had an even greater plan to rescue humanity from their sin and separation from God through the sacrifice of his perfect, sinless son Jesus. Although I know there will never be another flood, I do believe that Jesus is returning soon and will once again wipe out the wickedness of the world and make all the wrong right. How thankful I am that through Jesus I am found righteous before God just as Noah was. Not by any works of mine, but solely on my faith in Jesus Christ who gave His life for me.
