Take me out to the ballgame

At the end of the game the kids were invited down to run the bases!

This summer a new minor league baseball field opened in our area. At the end of the summer we brought the boys for their first baseball game experience of any kind. It was a bit of a long game (almost 3 hours) and our home team didn't win, however, the boys seemed to enjoy themselves. The playground and mini baseball diamond set up for the kids to play on during the game helped a lot and knowing that there would be fireworks at the end was motivation for them to hang in there! I'm not sure C will be much of a baseball watcher from here on out. Just last week when we drove by the stadium he was reminiscing about the night we went to the game and he said, "Oh, I remember going there! We got to drink soda, eat hot dogs, watch 2 hours of nothing, and see fireworks!" Gotta love the honesty of a non sports minded kid.
